A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Well hello there! Welcome to Daughter by Design! My name is Anna. I am a true PNW gal, living the busy scheduled life throughout the week and nature loving adventurer on the weekend.
I enjoy waking up early in the morning to watch sunrises and staying up late to watch sunsets.I love reading. I can eat mint-chocolate chip ice-cream all day long. I love falling asleep to the sound of rain. I love traveling any chance I can. On weekends you can find me adventuring outdoors- hiking, camping, visiting beaches, taking road trips, and exploring. But my greatest adventures in life have been with Jesus.
I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at an early age. Since then, I’ve devoted my life to pursuing Him wholeheartedly.
I enjoy serving at church, and have been working with middle schooler’s and children for 15+ years. Investing into them and watching them grow into all God has called them to be during their most critical and formative years of life has been such a gift to me.
I have always had a heart for helping families and children in the community, which led me to obtain a degree in Psychology, and now work at an incredible nonprofit organization serving foster families and children. Seeing families open their hearts and homes to children in need has been one of the most beautiful reflections of God’s tangible love that I have ever witnessed.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG
As a young girl, one of my favorite ways to connect with God was through writing. I filled over 15+ journals with my prayers, convictions, and lessons that God was teaching me through each season in life. In 2011 I courageously launched this blog and began sharing publicly some of the things God has been teaching me privately. It’s intimidating to be transparent and share personally on a public platform, but God has been challenging me to step out in faith and continue sharing what He has placed on my heart.
WHY DAUGHTER BY DESIGN?
Because I may be called many things in life, hold many roles, or have many titles, but the one role that will remain unchangeable and dearest to my heart is being the daughter of God. This is how I see myself first and foremost, and the lens through which I strive to live my life.
The purpose of this blog is simple: to empower, encourage, and challenge you in your daily walk with Christ from a faith-filled Biblical perspective.
